Our story

Kairos is designed to evoke a neoclassicism typical of the late 1800 century.

Originally inhabited by workers and featuring numerous warehouses, Via dei Neri saw a shift to wealthier families after being included within the city walls and the flood of 1333 that destroyed the river port. The street’s character, closely tied to manufacturing and markets, persists with the presence of trattorias, wine shops, fruit and vegetable stores, butchers, and groceries, mostly family-run and a rare sight in the historic center.

Nowadays, Via dei Neri is the crucial passage from Piazza della Signoria and the Santa Croce area. Due to the nobility of some palaces, towers, and houses along its route, the street holds significant historical and artistic interest.

Kairos is designed in a building with eclectic style, seeking to evoke a certain neoclassicism typical of the late 1800s, a period marked by significant changes in Florence during its time as the capital of Italy.

The four floors composing the building were constructed at different times, this is noticeable from the variant heights of each floor as well as the diverse geometric shapes of the windows of the facade, the width of the stairs and landings also varies from floor to floor.
